About Sideboards and Things

Sideboards and Things is a Virginia family business selling heirloom-quality, eco-friendly reclaimed wood furniture. We have been doing it since 2018.

What we actually sell

Sideboards, buffets, accent cabinets, dining tables and the pieces that go around them -- built in solid hardwood rather than veneer over particleboard. A large part of the range is reclaimed: old railroad beams, window shutters and shipping pallets, salvaged and given a second life. The wood is de-nailed, kiln dried and re-milled by hand before anything is built from it, so the marks in the grain are genuine rather than distressed to look old.

Our craftsmen work in India, Vietnam and the United States. Carving and polishing are done by hand, and the stains we use are environmentally friendly. That is slower than a production line, and it is the reason these pieces outlast the room they were bought for.

Assembled before it reaches you

Most of our pieces -- including jumbo sideboards, buffets and bookcases -- arrive fully assembled. There is no flat pack and no bag of hardware. Shipping is free within the continental United States, with no minimum order.

Meet our founder

A very merry woman, a mom of 3, a wife of a soldier, creative, resilient, and original, Natalya created Sideboards & Things as an extension of the parent store, LOOMLAN. Here the focus is on durable, impressive, long-lasting sideboards, buffets, accent cabinets and everything in between.

Natalya sources collections from the finest USA and international factories, and has built relationships with makers in Italy, Spain, India, Thailand, Malaysia, Mexico and Canada. Born and raised in Ukraine, she brings a charming and gregarious flair for mixing international styles, which allows for a smooth blending of cultures and looks.
