The Goldsborough Shagreen Wrapped Rectangular Console Table brings sophisticated texture and minimalist lines to any interior. A console table -- a narrow, height-appropriate surface designed for entryways, living rooms, and hallways -- serves both decorative and functional roles, offering display space without consuming floor area. The Goldsborough Shagreen Wrapped Rectangular Console Table by Chelsea House is available at Sideboards and Things with free shipping. Designed by Jamie Merida, this piece features an all-over shagreen-wrapped finish in white and cream tones, delivering organic texture and contemporary elegance that complements our full console tables collection.
At 64 inches wide and only 14 inches deep, this console fits snugly behind a sofa or along an entryway wall without intruding into walkways. The shagreen-wrapped surface adds tactile interest and visual depth, contrasting beautifully with smooth wood or metal furnishings found in our coffee tables and dining table sets offerings. The neutral white and cream palette pairs effortlessly with bold artwork, table lamps, or greenery, making this console a versatile anchor piece for display and everyday use. Its sturdy build supports decorative objects, keys, mail, and small electronics, while the flat top and straight edges provide clean, uncluttered lines that read well in both traditional and contemporary rooms.
Good dining room serving table
Placed along a dining room wall as a serving spot, it doesn't crowd the walkway thanks to the narrow depth. The sled base gives an airy look beneath the console and the genuine shagreen wrapping fits the traditional style nicely.
Neat option for a home office
Open storage works well for files and a small printer, and the sled base keeps the floor visible underneath which helps a smaller room breathe. The hand-applied shagreen wrapping adds texture that prevents the piece from feeling flat.
Stable but a bit heavy to move
The sled legs make it very steady on hardwood floors and the traditional lines suit a classic living room. It was heavier to move into place than I expected, so plan for an extra set of hands. The genuine shagreen wrapping looks nicer up close.
Perfect width behind the sofa
At 64-inch width it fits nicely behind a sofa with lamps on each end and room in the middle for art or plants. The open storage underneath is useful for baskets and the hand-applied shagreen wrapping adds subtle texture.
A little different in person Goldsborough Rectangular
It is a decent piece, though the tone and finish looked slightly different from the listing image. We also expected something a little softer or lighter in feel, so it took some adjustment.
