Victor Betancourt, a renowned Mexican designer, bestows an exquisite credenza to impart a resplendent spectrum of color to any dining area, entrance, or sitting room. A special background behind this magnificent piece. A group of four inhabitants from the We Radica ethnicity moved to the city where Victor Betancourt's workshops are located. A house was assigned to a family of four, who worked on this piece for about three months. Each credenza features more than 600,000 ancestral crystal beads attached, using beeswax as an adhesive and fusing this attachment with polyurethane to ensure the permanence of the beads over time.
Before imprinting each piece, the artisans undergo a ritual where they connect with their gods to discern what they want to portray in each piece, utilizing the peyote ritual as a channel to unite the earthly with the divine.
Known as the Island of the King, it is the origin of water and life, a sacred place where people go to pray for rain and the fertility of the land. This ancestral site has withstood the test of time, resisting attempts at dispossession, and remains as the origin of life, the origin of everything. Inspired by the transcendence of this sacred place, we have created a work of art transformed into furniture styled after Huichol crafts. This piece not only pays homage to the Island of the King but also carries with it the essence of the deep connection with the land and the pursuit of fertility. Transformed into a tangible presence, this work of art can beautify any space with its meaning and the cultural richness of Huichol crafts.
