Why a Handwoven Cane Storage Bench from Sideboards and Things?
The Westbrook's bamboo-inspired mahogany frame brings natural character to bedrooms and entryways without closing off the room visually. Place it at the foot of a queen or king bed for seating while dressing, or tuck it into an entryway where the open cane shelf displays baskets for mail, scarves, or shoes. The removable performance linen seat resists spills and wear, and lifts off easily if you want to update the fabric or reupholster it later. Pair the bench with bedroom benches in coordinating finishes or add other handcrafted mahogany pieces from our all furniture collection to unify the natural wood tones across the space.
Frequently Asked Questions
- How long should a bedroom bench be for a queen bed?
- A bench measuring 48 to 54 inches wide fits proportionally across the foot of a queen bed, and the Westbrook's 51.25-inch width provides balanced coverage without crowding the room.
- What size bench works for a king bed?
- For a king bed, a bench between 51 and 60 inches wide suits the mattress proportionally, and the Westbrook's width keeps the bench from extending beyond the mattress edges.
- Can this bedroom bench be used in an entryway?
- Yes -- the backless design and open cane storage shelf make it ideal for entryways, where it provides seating for putting on shoes and storage for baskets or folded textiles.
- Does the bench arrive assembled?
- Yes -- this bench arrives fully assembled and ready to place, and free curbside delivery to the continental USA is included.
- What is the difference between a storage bench and a regular bedroom bench?
- A storage bench includes compartments, drawers, or open shelves below the seat for organizing items, while a regular bedroom bench offers only seating without additional storage.
- How do I care for the mahogany frame and cane shelf?
- Wipe the wood and handwoven cane with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust, and spot clean the linen upholstery as needed to keep the bench looking its best.
